Thornton in Craven Community Primary School Council is composed of pupils from each year group from Year 1 to Year 6 with a pupil from Reception joining the council in summer term.
Pupils express and interest in joining the council and after a presentation to their class, are then elected to the post that lasts for the full year. Meetings take place on a regular basis where feedback from classes and ideas are shared.
The school council chooses charities the school supports and helps to organise fundraising events. They also influence changes they feel will help to enhance the school environment.
